Investigation of stereoisomers of 4-alkenyl-trans-decahydroquinol-4-ols in mixtures by the method of reaction chromato-mass spectrometry

Synthesis of <Emphasis Type="Italic">N</Emphasis>-Arylsulfonyl-α-thienylglycines from <Emphasis Type="Italic">N</Emphasis>-(2,2,2-Trichloro-1-thienylethyl)arenesulfonamides

Reactions of N-(2,2,2-trichloroethylidene)arenesulfonamides with thiophene, 2-chlorothiophene, and 2,5-dichlorothiophene, as well as of N-(2,2,2-trichloro-1-hydroxyethyl)arenesulfonamides with 2-chlorothiophene, lead to formation of the corresponding N-(2,2,2-trichloro-1-thienylethyl)arenesulfonamides. Reaction of 1-Aryl-3-methylpyrazol-5-ones with 2-Cyanoaryldiazonium Bisulfates

2-Cyanoaryldiazonium bisulfates, obtained by the action of nitrosyl sulfuric acid on isatin 3-hydrazone and its 5-bromo and 5-nitro derivatives, couple with 1-aryl-3-methylpyrazol-5-ones and form 4-arylhydrazones of 1-aryl-3-methylpyrazole-4,5-diones. Observation of magnetic field effect on polymer yield in photoinduced dispersion polymerization of styrene

Photoinduced dispersion polymerization of styrene in the presence of dibenzyl ketone as a photoinitiator, with or without magnetic field, has been followed with time. The experiments were carried out at low degrees of conversion of monomer. Since the conditions of the polymerization reaction (viscosity of the medium, reagents concentration, etc.) were approximately unchanged, the results were explained on the basis of a simplified model of dispersion polymerization. The normal growth of the polymerization rates with temperature was registered, and the activation energy of the polymerization was estimated to be about 12 kJ/mol in the temperature range from 20 to 60 °C. The magnetic field effect was best seen at low temperature. The maximum yield of the polymerization product increases by 20% when the magnetic field of 1000 G was applied at the temperature of 20 °C.

We give criteria for the boundedness of integral operators with nonnegative monotone kernel in the weighted Lebesgue spaces on a half-axis.     

Thermo-electrical regime of a vertical electrolyzer: Estimates of the effects of electric conductivity and gas evolution

Some estimates of the distribution of the electric field and current in a vertical electrolyzer are made. The homogeneity criterion, connecting electrode sizes, working space thickness, electrolyte conductivity, and electrode conductivity is obtained. This criterion is verified in numerical calculations. The effects of the gas phase in a vertical electrolyzer are estimated under homogeneous and nonhomogeneous distributions of the potential with height in the working space. It is shown that, under conditions when two-phase models of a liquid with bubbles can be used, the effect of the gas phase on the potential and current distributions with height is insignificant in a number of cases. The research results can be used to select proper electrode materials and to verify and interpret the results of numerical modeling of two-phase electrolyte hydrodynamics in the working space of a vertical electrolyzer.
